Dr. Rakesh C. Tailor started his pre-career with Dr. Bishop and Associates in 1997 as a technician while obtaining his Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the University of Calgary.
After graduation, he decided to pursue his passionate interest in optometry in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He graduated in 2006 with honours as a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honour Society. Now a Doctor of Optometry, Dr. Rakesh returned home and took up practice at Dr. Bishop & Associates.
Dr. Tailor is a member in good standing with the Alberta Association of Optometrists and the local Calgary Society of Optometrists. Dr. Tailor takes time out of his regular work to help support and distribute eye health care around the world through the OneSight program. He’s also known to volunteer at CUPS (Calgary Urban Project Society); a non-profit organization with a series of programs and services dedicated to providing primary health care for adults and families living in poverty. Dr. Tailor has donated his time and services to the less fortunate in Mexico, Punjab, Goa, and Thailand with the eyeglass recycling program.
Dr. Tailor is an avid Calgary Flames fan during the winter months. In the summer, when not working or travelling, Dr. Tailor enjoys spending time locally with family and friends. He also likes taking local road trips to the mountains to take in what Calgary and our surrounding areas have to offer.
